Laurie McAndish King took this photo on a trip to Fort Bragg last September. It was one of 60,000 entered in Smithsonian magazine’s 7th annual photo contest, and it’s now one of 50 finalists.

Laurie’s picture is a sensuous shot of a tiny frog hidden in the folds of a succulent plant at Simply Succulents just north of Ft. Bragg.

TheSmithsonian is also running a People’s Choice contest so the public can vote on their favorite. Laurie’s photo is currently 5th out of 50 in the People’s Choice voting; you can see all the photos and vote for Laurie’s entry here:  Smithsonian Photo Contest. Anyone can vote, and can do so once every 24 hours throughout March. If you agree this is an amazing photo, vote daily so our Fort Bragg favorite takes home the prize.
