Among the many businesses that add to Fort Bragg’s charm and character is the North Coast Brewing Company, founded here in 1988. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the brewery will hold a series of events beginning Thursday, April 11th, when it hosts a tasting of its limited release barleywine beer.
Actually, three limited release barleywines will be available for tasting. That’s because North Coast Brewing has collaborated with two other renowned West Coast breweries that are releasing their own distinctive versions of the brew. The collaborators, Rogue Ales and Deschutes Brewery, were also founded in 1988. As part of a joint anniversary celebration, these Class of ’88 pioneering brewers traveled to each other’s locations and teamed up to brew a commemorative trio of barleywines. As a result, beer aficionados have a unique opportunity to enjoy three exciting interpretations.
The tastings will be held at North Coast’s Brewery Taproom, located at the corner of Main and Pine streets in Fort Bragg.
