Fort Bragg Farmers’ Market is Alive and Growing!

lettuce-bouquet Every Wednesday from 3:30- 6pm, an empty lot on the north end of Fort Bragg is populated with dozens of canopies and an assortment of fresh local goods.

The farmers market brings vendors from all over Mendocino County, providing an assortment of fresh fruits, baked goods, honey, fish, goat cheese, produce, potted plants, vegetable starts, beef, maple trees and cut flowers. And there’s always lots of beautiful lettuce, like this bouquet from the Noyo Food Forest booth.

If you have any home gardening questions, there is a Master Gardener from Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens set up to help answer them.

The weekly market is a feast for the eyes and the belly, as well as a lively social gathering. Live music and tables create a picnic area and a place to sit and visit. The Garden Bakery has brought a full kitchen, and sells prepared foods (soup, sandwiches and a “really good hot dog”) in addition to their famous baked goods.

For visitors and locals alike the market is a true display of the abundance of our local community. Be sure to get there early – people are lined up when the bell rings at 3:30!

The market is located in the parking lot next to the Century 21 building on the West side of Highway One, a few blocks north of downtown. The Fort Bragg Farmers Market is open through October 28th.
