Part of the beauty of the coast off Fort Bragg is the constant migration of whales. The Grays are here from December to April and Humpbacks and Blue Whales, the largest mammal on Earth, pass by in a steady stream the rest of the year. It was unfortunate this week to learn that a Blue Whale had been hit and killed by a marine research vessel. The accident left everyone here saddened. It also made us appreciate the rich ocean environment just off our shores.
