Glass Beach Named one of World’s 10 Most Amazing Beaches

Print This Post Print This Post

A blog called Shore Beauty included Glass Beach in their list of most amazing beaches, explaining that “the mighty Pacific finished the clean-up by gradually grinding down tons of broken glass into pretty, rounded pebbles.”  The clean-up they mention is the transformation of an abandoned dump into a sparkling, easily accessed beach.

If you haven’t visited Glass Beach, it really is a ‘must-see’. And this time of year is one of the best seasons to enjoy Glass Beach and adjacent beaches such as MacKerricher State Park. Fort Bragg’s beaches offer miles of virtually empty shores perfect for long romantic walks.

It’s time – don’t even think about it. Just finish your breakfast, throw the duffel-bag in your car, and drive to Fort Bragg. Less than 4 hours from most places in the San Francisco Bay Area, and greater Sacramento, you’ll be here in time for lunch and an afternoon stroll on an empty beach.

We’ll leave the sparkly-beach glass light on for you.
