Paul Bunyan Days is the oldest small-town celebration on the Mendocino Coast. Named for our bigger-than-life logger and his giant blue ox, the festival celebrates the history of the community and pays tribute to the strength of the people who live here. The theme this year is “Into the Redwoods with Paul and Babe.”
There are many events during the 4 day celebration, one of the most popular is the Logging Show and Expo. Competition gets fierce with BIG prize money at stake!
The long weekend includes a Kiddie Parade, Kiddie Games & Tricycle Race.
There’s the ORIGINAL Ugly Dog Contest that also includes competitions for prettiest, smallest, largest, smartest, best Frisbee and owner-look alike.
The parade is always a favorite of visitors and locals alike, and the Humboldt State Marching Band is often the highlight of the parade.
There’s also the Belle of the Redwoods, Craft & Food Fairs, the Blue Ox Beer Festival, Gem & Mineral Show, Classic Car Show, Pie Sale, Community BBQ, and the Volunteer Fire Department Water Fight & Fireman’s Ball.
