Pick ‘em at Posh

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

I’ve always thought it would be safer for those driving behind me if I had a bumper sticker that said “I brake for garage sales” because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve yanked the wheel to park and browse to the surprise of the driver behind me. Several times this has happened when I’m passing the “Stable Sales” (part of The Posh Pauper) at Fir and Franklin.

I learned today that for once, I can have a deliberate reason to head over to the historic stables – Fresh Flowers! One of the 5 stables (that once housed the carriages of the 1st stage coach line on the northern coast) now houses fresh flowers that you can pick yourself and have the florist, Char, arrange for you or just have wrapped up for your trip home. Laura even mentioned that because the flower stable in on the street, you can pull up and point and get flowers without even leaving the car! Flowers range from rabbit tails to sunflowers to gladiolas and beyond. In addition to complimentary tea in coffee, Posh Pauper also lets you pick out a free, re-purposed vase to put your flowers in.

The Pick ‘em at Posh flower shop is now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
