Woodworker’s “Show & Tell” this Saturday

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

woodworker show & tellIt’s a wonderful thing when an artist opens up their creative space to share their technique and artistic vision. A new “Show & Tell” series by local woodworkers provides a unique chance to build the woodworking community in Fort Bragg and learn about local artists.

The recent Woodworking School exhibit at Town Hall was a huge hit; the hall was so packed, you could hardly get close enough to the works to admire them! This event will be much more intimate and give people a chance to learn about the process of woodworking.

One of the event’s hosts, Andrew Wallace of Mahout Tool & Supply, describes the kickoff event for the new Show & Tell series:

On Saturday March 13 at 2pm, Mahout and Pachyderm Furniture Works in Ft. Bragg will present the first of many Woodworker’s Show & Tell. This time around  Isaac Fisher will do a demonstration of Hand Carved Embellishments in Wood. Isaac will show us his techniques of carving some lovely details into wood and options for commissioned work. My hope is for this to be a regular gathering of woodworkers, friends and patrons to share techniques, educate the community and celebrate some of the amazing talent here on the coast. Look for another demo in May.

Location: 122 East Fir St. Ste. C @ Main St., Fort Bragg
