Fort Bragg #5 on Dog Fancy Magazine's Dog Towns USA
Somehow Dog Fancy magazine heard how much people in Fort Bragg love dogs - ours and the ones who come to visit. They asked if we'd like to be considered for their Dog Towns USA competition. Does a Lab love water? Of course we wanted to tell them all the reasons Fort Bragg is a dog crazy town.
They sent a lengthy questionnaire asking about our resident dogs; dog-friendly businesses, dining, and lodging establishments; our animal community; and the fun things we do with our four-legged friends.
We were happy to give examples of places you could enjoy with your pet. We told them about the off-leash dog park and off-leash Noyo Beach.
We explained 2/3 of the businesses open for First Friday's Art Walk welcome dogs, we directed them to dog-blogger Hairy Putter's visit to the Botanical Gardens and videos of kayaking with Liquid Fusion, and the Barking Sand of Glass Beach.

We sent them pictures of Hobbs - the Mayor of the Dog Park, a dog sporting blue nail polish complements of PAWS, the winner of the Pup PJ Contest, and a past winner of the Ugly Dog Contest.

Is it any wonder Fort Bragg was #5 on their top 10 list? I just wonder why we weren't number 1!
