Historical Walking Tour
Walking tours are wonderful ways to see things you would not normally see, and the Fort Bragg Oddities Walk created by local Ron Bloomquist is full of weird, special and well, odd things you probably wouldn’t notice without his help. Ron explains, “I started walking for health reasons and was soon struck by joy of walking around Fort Bragg. A couple months later I started a blog called Walking Fort Bragg. Because of my walking and blogging I started noting and photographing “Oddities” - things I didn’t know existed in Fort Bragg. I created the guide to share them with you”.
Fort Bragg Oddities is a self-guided tour to places in town where you will find unusual things like hitching rings, a bar and church that predate the1906 earthquake, a misspelled bronze plaque, and a stage coach step just to name a few. You can make your walk as long or as short as you like. You can start out anywhere, but if you are new to town, you might orientate yourself by locating the Guest House Museum on the west side of Main Street between Redwood Avenue and Laurel Street. Have fun and be sure and look both ways before you cross the street. Another walk available is the Historical Walking Tour
