Enjoy Chowder and micro-brew tasting while visiting local shops and inns, and whale watch from the Pomo Bluffs Park in Fort Bragg, as well as from miles of beaches.
The Chowder Tasting will feature a contest between various local restaurants – and you can be there to taste them all and vote for your favorite! The tasting takes place at Masonic Hall (428 N Main St) from 11 am – 1 pm or until the chowder runs out, so get there early! Tickets for the chowder tasting are $10 and can be bought online at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the Mendocino Coast Chamber office at 217 Main St, Fort Bragg. Tickets can also be purchased at the event.
North Coast Brewing Company’s beer sampling will take place at Masonic Hall at the same time as the Chowder Tasting. Tickets to the sampling can be bought at the event, $5 for three tastings. All proceeds benefit the Student Scholarships for Mendocino and Fort Bragg High Schools.
The 31st Annual Whale Run & Walk takes place on Saturday, March 19, from 8 am and is organized by Soroptomist International of Fort Bragg. Events include a 10K & 5K Run, a 5K Competitive Walk, a 5K Fun Walk and a Kiddies Race (begins at 7:30 am) The Run/Walk starts and finishes in the Skunk Train parking lot.
