Cioppino Dinner — Friday, January 25
Time: Seating at 4:30, 6:00 & 8:00 p.m.
Tickets: adults $35, kids $15
Location: Historic Pentecost Hall, 822 Stewart Street, Fort Bragg
Dinner is served family-style with tossed salad and Cafe Beaujolais bread for dipping. Dinner includes bibs, lots of napkins, dessert and locally roasted Thanksgiving Coffee. North Coast Brewing Company beer and Mendocino County wines are available in the Crabby Bar. The kitchen’s giant Cioppino pot is filled with fresh Dungeness crab, caught off the North coast and donated by Noyo Harbor’s Caito Fisheries — along with shrimp, mussels and clams. There will be a silent Auction at all three seatings.
Crab Cake Cook-Off & Wine Tasting Competition — Saturday, January 26
Time: Noon to 3 p.m.
Location: The Big White Tent at the corner of Main & Spruce, Fort Bragg
Twelve Mendocino chefs will prepare their original recipes, making 500 crab cakes each for this gastronomical extravaganza. That’s 6000 crab cakes served up with an inviting array of Mendocino wines and micro brews.
Prestigious Judges: Guests are invited to vote for their favorite crab cakes and see how they match up with a panel of professional media judges, headed up this year by the Editor-in-Chief of Every Day with Rachel Ray and Director of Communications for National Geographic and National Geographic Traveler.
Silent Auction: A silent auction prizes include extraordinary wines, destinations and other gifts. Grand Prize is a Lake Tahoe get-away package.
“Circle Of Claws”: This year, those wanting a bit more can purchase Circle of Claws tickets allowing early entry into the Big White Tent, reserved seating, and some not-so-crabby perks. Tickets, available in limited quantity, are $125 per person.
