Fort Bragg eagerly anticipates access to hundreds of acres of spectacular ocean-front land that was once home to Georgia Pacific’s lumber mill site.
We were thrilled when we learned the entire coastline, from Glass Beach to Noyo Harbor, would be opened to the public for a pedestrian & bike path.
The next bit of good news is about the Noyo Center, a marine science/education center being proposed as a marine research center for the State college system, and a nature center with marine exhibits for residents and visitors.
What’s more, you’re invited to help design it! The City of Fort Bragg is sponsoring two public design events for the community to inform the project design.
On Monday, June 7th, 7 – 8:30 at Town Hall, there will be an informal open house for you to learn about the project, exchange ideas, and provide input to the design team about the Noyo Center’s amenities, activities, look and feel. On Thursday, June 10, 7:00 ~ 8:30 pm in Town Hall, there will be an opportunity to look at and comment on draft designs that were created during a four-day Noyo Center Design Charrette (the charrette will not
be open to the general public).
