Did you know Fort Bragg is a hot spot for off-road cyclists?  The myriad of old logging roads and trails that dissect the old timber parcels in the Jackson Demonstration State Forest are perfect for the sport.  Check out our pages on cycling in Fort Bragg and on the Mendocino Coast for more details and trail information.

Coming up in the middle of June, the California Enduro Series will make a stop in Fort Bragg for the Wild Wood Enduro.

On June 13th and 14th, 2015, participants will enjoy two days, 3-4 stages per day, of true cross country Enduro racing.  The weekend includes three nights’ camping (Friday through Sunday), meals (including a hot breakfast on Saturday and Sunday), Rhesus timing by Bike Monkey, aid stations along the course and other non-racing amenities such as local craft brews, and passport activities for non-racing family members.  Activities will include kayaking, canoeing, hiking and shopping.  The historic town of Caspar will be the official host site, but there is plenty to do in and around Fort Bragg as well.

Sponsored by local cycling organizations such as Bike Sprite, the Mendocino Coast Cyclists and Wynn Coastal Planning, a portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mendocino Coast Cyclists and The Conservation Fund, which protects forest lands from fragmentation while utilizing sustainable forestry practices.

Join us in blending the old and new in the forests surrounding Fort Bragg.  For more information, go to their Wild Wood Endruo weekend website.
