Depending on the time of the year, you’ll find a steady supply of dungeness crab or fresh fish, just off the boat, in Noyo Harbor. You can even catch a whale watching boat and head out to sea.
But we also have one of the most beautiful and unusual coastal gardens in the world right down the road at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. There are 47 acres of rare, exotic and popular flowers stretching from the entrance off Highway 1 to the Pacific Ocean. It’s a wonderful walk, full of birds, cozy winding paths and quiet spots to picnic. You’ll even find a small cafe to fuel your passion for the plant world.
Two other gardens are of note: Simply Succulents, which is a haven for succulents from around the world, and Celeri and Son, a giant rhododendron nursery. Both are worth a visit.
