¡Festival Caliente! will be presented by the Community Center of Mendocino and Pura Vida on June 23,  with Bay Area Latin and Brazilian Jazz ensemble Key Elements, and an All Star lineup of salsa, cumbria, rumba and more dancing! Dakota Mendoza and Friends will be on hand for Latin Inspired Zumba;  you can enjoy a  salsa dance class with Georgia-Ann Gregory, hear the Brazilian percussion troupe TreMendo, and work up an appetite for a deliciously  authentic Mexican dinner, fabulous drinks, and more! Tickets are just $15 advance here or $20 at the door. This is an all ages event, so bring the family and enjoy a Latin-inspired summer festival in Mendocino.

 

Activities on the Coast: Surf Day Camp for Young People

Activities on the Coast Go Surf CampGet set for a five day, 20 hour Surf Camp for young people ages 7-17,  Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m—if the waves are fabulous and everyone wants to surf longer, it will go later. Activities include group surfing lessons, “free surfing”, one-on-one instruction, team building, ocean and water safety, nature hikes, and and simply oceans of fun. Wetsuits, surfboards, and healthy snacks will be provided. Participants bring their own bag lunch and water bottle. Students must know how to swim to join this class. Activities on the Coast Spring Dance ConcertCotton Auditorium is the setting for the magical Annual Spring Dance Concert June 23 and 24 in Fort Bragg, featuring dancers of all ages from Second Story Dance Studios along with guest artists, including San Francisco’s requisitedance troupe. This is an amazing children’s program on the coast, and the auditorium will be packed with people enjoying every moment of dance, from hip hop to jazz, ballet, and tap. With great music and fabulous costumes, it’s definitely a treat for the eyes, ears, and spirit! Tickets available at Harvest Market in Fort Bragg , Twist in Mendocino, and at the door.

Activities on the Coast: HarmonyUsHarmonyUs takes place on Saturday, June 30 at Caspar Community Center, featuring musical guest Trevor Green, MC Sherry Glaser,  and all day music and workshops exploring mind, spirit, and body, including Mama Grow’s Funk, Lauren Brown, Tribal Baroque, Danny Barca, and the HarmonyUs Band. Opening ceremony starts at 2:00 p.m. led by Spirit House. There will be ecstatic dance, yoga, sound immersion, and conscious speakers Sid Garza, Ron Nadeau, Toni Bernbaum, Sherry Glaser, Michael Lott, and Peter Wells.
